An opportunity knocks only once a time. At such rare times, it is up to us whether we face it or we plan escaping from that situation like a loser.
Opportunity is where the talents are recognized.
There are certain extracurricular activities and programs where an individual’s talents and potentials are identified.
Likewise, there are programs in our college on Saturday and Monday where students perform skit, dramas, public speaking, presentations to create awareness of latest news and happenings around the world. It allows us to be as creative and innovative as we can be.
On monday, when everybody assemble new faces and talents are unveiled with their performance. The programs are conducted both in English and Tibetan to develop fluency of the spoken language.
Likewise, scholars are invited to give insight on topics of concern. For an instance, Tibetan historian Dr. Jampa Samten was invited in familiarizing with the events and history of Tibet.
Proficient professors of different Buddhism sub sects like Gyeluk, Sakya, Nyingma, Kagyu and Bhoen was also introduced in after class sessions.
There are activities organized by various sports club conducts table tennis, football and basket matches once in a year.
Cultural club holds cultural programs and competition among the houses (lachen, bero and thunme). Arts and club members designs beautiful interior decors and pieces like photo frames, flower pots, vase, lanterns, pen stands and many more. Environmental club ensures a clean and well maintained the environment every time.
Literature club organizes activities every third week of month. Literary club also encourages and motivates students towards literary activities such as poems, essays, short story, etc. by publishing it in the campus magazines. Moreover, in order to maintain and increase the level of innovative and creative writing among students.
As our spiritual leader, H.H. The Dalai Lama spoke about student exchange among our own Tibetan college students. Heeding the words of Kundun, we have already started to work on it although with minor steps. Our Tibetan teacher initiatively organized student exchange program between the students of Banaras Hindu University and C.T.E Bhunter. Although held for the first time, it was a successful one. We hope to hold more of such programs.
During this period of semester we had had many programs like debates, speeches, dramas, skits, student exchange programs. Introductory of Tibet’s events and histories of various religions o from scholar Mr.Jampa Samten and others eminent professors respectively. Such activities are organized apart from our routine syllabus and academic performance so as to develop an overall development of students. As Gandhi once said, “Education is an overall development.” Excellency in academic and development of other skillful talents should also be recognized which equally important. Academic and skill development goes hand in hand.
Knowledge and wisdom is an everyday phenomenon that can be inspired from almost anything and everything if you have the will to learn.
